For years the fastest thing on a Tuesday in San Francisco. Crit-style laps of the 2.4-mile Golden Gate Park loop, rolling out at 6:00 PM sharp through the summer, full gas from the gun.
It was killed by street furniture. Islands, bollards and barriers went into the park loop, and a course you could race shoulder to shoulder became one you could not. The format stopped working before the appetite for it did. Rush-hour traffic building on the west end of the loop did the rest. There was no final edition and no announcement. Attendance thinned, then it simply was not on any more.
The only record that it had ended at all was a Slack thread. Club pages kept listing it. That gap (between a ride stopping and the internet noticing) is the reason Roll Call exists, and this is the ride that started it.
